Hey it's Sam,
And this is the start of my weekly musings, there won't be any real script to this, similar to the podcast inspiration will come from what my clients are sating and talking about, what I'm seeing in the world and any new research that's been released.
So yesterday was kind of a big deal for me (that's me 16 years ago btw).
Yesterday is my babies 16th Birthday!
So we went out for a nice meal (her request) and I'm still just amazed at how quickly the time has gone.
And that's the thing with time, it doesn't stand still. It keeps going, even if you're not wanting to move forward.
And so as we apporached this monumental day, I started giving myself a hard time. Saying things to myself like, "16 years have passed and you're still not at your pre-pregnancy weight."
And after a few days, I realised I needed to get myself sorted. This negativity was like the plague, I had subconciously started wearing baggy clothes and instead of it motivating me to do better, eat better, exercise better...
It had done the opposite, I had a takeaway 2 days in a row.
And if you're now thinking...
Sam always talks about Self Love and here she is, not practicing what she preaches.
You're right and if you've ever heard me talk in a webinar or podcast, you'll know I'm the first to admit that when I'm being a hypocrite.
And the truth is, I was still practicing my self love rituals, I was meditating everyday, I was saying affirmations.
But I'd fell into a practice of negativity so easily.
You see it's easier to think badly, talk negatively and do nothing, than it is to be pro-active and cut this off straight away.
And so I went back to the basics, I looked at my successes, I did one of the sessions in my program and gradually I came back to myself, move motivated than ever to be at the gym, eat healthly but most importanly to feel good inside myself and out.
So why am I telling you all of this?
Because if you've had a target and you haven;t reached it. Maybe in January you decided this was the year you would lose weight, meet the love of your life, start a new career.
And you haven't just yet, then here's your permission slip.
it's easier to sit and do nothing, that much is true, but when you do start to mkae small changes, even little tiny ones - to your mindset.
Huge changes start to come your way.
